'Classic Rock Cares' Featuring AC/DC Members: 'Rockline' Appearance Scheduled
June 13, 2007"Classic Rock Cares", the fundraising tour which features AC/DC members Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams, along with legendary hard rock singer Joe Lynn Turner (RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN),will be the featured guests on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" with host Bob Coburn on Wednesday, July 11. Johnson and Cliff Williams will headline the "Classic Rock Cares" dates, beginning July 6 in Las Vegas, and they plan to do AC/DC classics as well as some new material recorded in the past year with members of the late WHO bassist John Entwistle's solo band. The shows, which will also feature sets by Joe Lynn Turner and original GRAND FUNK RAILROAD singer-guitarist Mark Farner, will end in an all-star jam on AC/DC's "Highway To Hell".
Seven shows have been announced so far, and there are plans to do a total of 15. Proceeds will go to the John Entwistle Foundation, which is dedicated to helping provide free music education and instruments via libraries around the country.
